Client Spotlight: Puget Sound Educational Service District
One of Bethaday Community Learning Space’s frequent clients is Puget Sound Educational Service District (PSESD). We would like to take a moment with this blog to honor their support of Technology Access Foundation’s mission through their regular rental of our facility.
We spoke with Beverly Harding Buehler, PSESD’s Director of Arts Education for their Arts Impact program, about her experience working with BCLS.
“BCLS is a really flexible and light-filled learning space with easy access to technology, and an amazing and responsive staff. The central location and access to the park has been great for us,” says Beverly.
This summer PSESD held their STEM and Arts Infused Learning summer institute for teachers at BCLS. We loved having the creativity of these art teachers in the building – painting, performing, and filming all around us.
“The teachers felt well-supported by the space. We had plenty of room in which to learn, exhibit, perform, and to share our work. It is such an adaptive space. With 30 teachers, 8 teaching artists, multiple presenters, and staff, everyone was accommodated.”
They even had a mini makers faire downstairs to kick off the week, with everything from soldering to 3D printers and lots in between. It was so cool to see their art-infused STEM in action.
“The Multipurpose Room is so adaptable to a range of needs,” Beverly shares. “I love that it can be an inside/outside space.”
PSESD and TAF share similar goals. We both use innovative approaches to serve kids who need it most to close opportunity gaps and fully engage them in their education. We are grateful for the PSESD’s partnership and will continue supporting each other in our bigger goal of reaching our kids.
Thank you, Puget Sound Educational Service District and Beverly Harding Buehler! We can’t wait to have you back here again later this month!
